Shannon Bess

Shannon Bess is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has been practicing in the mental health and behavioral health field since 1992 and has extensive experience working with both children and adults in a range of settings from acute to chronic care that include:

Inpatient Psychiatric and Chemical Dependency

Community-based services including Outpatient Counseling, Foster Care, Adoption, Parenting Education, and Mentoring

Formalized services through FSSA (DCS/BDDS/DMHA) including residential treatment facilities, Medicaid Waiver services, and State Hospital treatment

Shannon has a passion for working with individuals with Autism and other ID/DD diagnosis and their families in helping them find their way, connect to services, and reduce their stress. She also enjoys working with a wide range of persons who present with a variety of behavioral, adjustment, and neurobiological challenges such as:

Career/Work related stress

Anxiety and Depressive Disorders

Mood Disorders

Psychotic Disorders

Relational conflict and reconciliation

Addiction

Conduct Disorders

Trauma

Shannon has been active in Stephens Ministry and has been trained in Crisis Incident Stress Management (CISM) and Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT).
